Character Race?
Hi, my girlfriend wants to know if her character can be a human/tiger hybrid? If not can she just be a tiger? Thanks!
The dice say... Hello!

Re: Character Race?
Technically possible, not very likely. Have to wait for Todd, he's the only one who can tell you yes or no.

Re: Character Race?
This you would likely have to take animalism for. It is an advanced skill.

Re: Character Race?
In general you need to be an established player before you can play a "special" race.
There are skills, however, that will let your girlfriend do what she wants. We would be more than happy to help her with figuring out how to do what she wants to do.

Re: Character Race?
Hi everyone, I am the girlfriend referenced in the above question. I would really appreciate having help creating my (hopefully tiger) character seeing as I don't really know what to do. Thanks!

Re: Character Race?
We have the 'core' races that are available in the rulebook, then we have a few 'special' races that are only available to experienced players as they sometimes have special rules. Beastmen are among the latter, so if you wanted to come out and play a standard race character until you get the hang of it you could perhaps play an advanced race character as your secondary character. You could also 'retire' your primary character to start a new character later as well.
If you dont want to wait there is a skill in game that allows you to take an 'animal form'. Think WoW Druid. Its based off of a basic skill called Animal Ken. Once youve reached level 8 'Animal Ken' you qualify to learn 'Animalism', this lets you make up a second character sheet for your animal form (in your case your Tiger).
With a 'Earth Major' race you could do this with around 150 character points (after 1 or 2 events with the fast track system), and a little over 200 character points (about 3 events with the fast track system) as a Human.

Re: Character Race?
Course, if you want you can just avoid re-writing the character rather than simply retire it. I'm sure that she'd be ok to be whatever before 500pts.
