*Res' hostility towards the Garen seems to evaporate, and he grins at him drunkenly, "Buying drinks? Well... that's understandable then. Hard to not like a man who makes up for his mistakes by buying you a beer." *He looks at Brodmordh* "Give me some of the good stuff." *He grins at Garen* Maybe I was too hasty... and yeah, my name is Res."

"He is whom he claims. Welcome to Midway Garen Aythereon."

Jack relaxes he stance and removes his hand from his sword. He makes a fist and places it over his heart, saluting him.

*Vaellar looks over at Daniel as he climbs out from under the bar*

"Every organization has youthful members with far too much energy and far too little wisdom in how to apply it properly. I would hope that you dont judge all the members of the mages guild of Midway by the actions of one or two newer members. We have done a great deal to help this town in solving its problems and still provide an invaluable service in the form of protection, transportation, and identification/creation of magical items. I would hate to see those services slandered just as I would hate to see anyone slander your House for the actions of several of your more foolhardy tomes and the things they have done.

In many cases we are simply upholding the kings law by making sure that all those capable of casting magics are registered within our organization. We dont exactly have the luxury of turning down those who petition for entrance unless they show necromantic taint. Ignorance and stupid use of ones magical energies is not really something we can deny someone access to the guild for" *Looking over at Adovan*

"Although if he has so much excess spell energy that he can teleport around like a small child who just recently gained his magical powers I could always talk to the archon about requisitioning some of that energy for more important matters. Perhaps he could help fuel the creation of some scrolls for the upcoming mission, or provide protective magics to the less hearty members of this town whom he seems to have offended." *Vaellar nods towards Res*

"Ok...enough serious talk...somebody get me a drink and some food." *Looks at the barkeep*

You are right Vaellar, I have come to be fond of many members of your guild, yourself not the least on that list. And you are also correct that there have been times in the past when the House had a somewhat less than clean image, though I must say hardly a month goes by that someone hasn't thrown that into my face. I suppose my pride at a member leaving under such abrupt terms has left me less than my normal hospitable self. Old prejudices regarding the guild sometimes get the better of me.

*Garen smiles brightly*

"Vaellar speaks truth. Though even us older members can embarress our selves it seems. Greetings Vaellar, we have never had the chance to meet. Which is probably a sad thing. Because I would have assuredly attempted to get you to join the Sentinels! How goes life here in this little hamlet? You are of course welcome to partake of the tab I created."

"Should Jack say you look trustworthy, then welcome to the party!" Olaf says to Garen. Then he raises his mug to the merchant. "NOW BRING ON THE ALE!"

"As for all you there fighting with words - it's pointless and boring! Break out the blades already! Or use your fists! Give the rest of us something to watch, at least!"
