And of course, there are simpler methods of divining what is wrong other than contacting essence mages that have requested they not be contacted. Those being the foundation of simple research. Research that is a cornerstone of the 'other' group represented here, and one that is worth what one pays for it.
This does not look like a simple situation, however it also looks as if it is not a direly urgent situation. However, nothing is for certain as to how long this condition, spell, or effect will last. And when it does, it will be a dire emergency if people wish the man to live.

*Twilight smiles at Nyrhtak*
But what of the Essence Mage you said had been appraised of the situation and was watching? Or was that the speculated Essence Mage?
*she turns to Solari*
I have discovered that I will be of more use to the Essence Mage if I were to remain here. Though I did recieve another vision ... most perplexing.
*she turns back to Nyrhtak*
No, do not attempt to contact the Essence Mages. They are in hiding for good reason, and it would appear as if the Boy has inadvertantly disrupted that hiding. No matter, they are in danger and there are other means by which to contact them. We do not want to further endanger them.
*she sighs*
I agree, we should attempt to Identify the Staff and see if it may be able to assist us here. The other thing we should do is try and interpret my vision.
*she closes her eyes for a moment, when she opens them, they have that far-away glaze to them*
When I first inquired as to whether or not we should attempt to Disenchant the old man, I was prompted to wait ... not yet. Once Sylas was awakenned and the connection to the Void was reestablished, I inquired again as to whether or not we should attempt to Disenchant the old man. It is then that I recieved a vision. I was prompted that he would eventually need to be Dienchanted, but something was missing. I see an image of people standing around the old man, then a beautiful white horn touches him ... a unicorn?

I could go ask a Unicorn if they think they could help? I happen to know where a few may be. *Looks perplexed for a moment* Twillight, did it look as if he was still here or possibly somwhere else? Is it ok to move him now or should he stay here? If it is ok to move him I can take him to a place that should be safe, an entire people would probably be willing to protect him from harm.

*Twilight's eyes regain their clarity as she shakes herself out of her vision*
He was unable to be moved before, I do not know if it is even physically possible that he be moved now ... I doubt he can.
*she then leans over and whisperts to Daerm, then to Nyrhtak*

*listens to most of the conversation and nods approvingly to Nyrhtak when he lays out his offer of peace between Twilight and himself.*
"I believe that moving him has been tried and it failed. I don't think we can until he has been disenchanted, and as Twilight said now is not the time, yet for that."

Hmm perhaps I could find something in the ToeVass book on this staff/wand thing.
*looks at the item closely*
I'll go check
*heads out to the inn*

HAHA! very true Ebek
*Solari hops out of the window and goes over to the man*
I'm going to just check and see if he still can't be moved, the void has returned and that may have had something to do with his immobility.
*Pauses a moment and looks around for objections and tries to lift the man's leg slightly*
