Re: Maka knocking
*with a look of surprise on her face*
Well alright, but let's discuss this further inside. *aroura opens the tower door, and motions Maka to come inside*
*Assuming she does follow, we head to the library*
Have a seat if you would like.
*Aroura sits and waits for Maka to do the same*
Well first I must inquire as to why you would like to learn magic? I ask this because it will take a lot of concentration and commitment on your part and your teachers to teach you.

*She thinks for a moment and says*

Re: Maka knocking
*Aroura gives a chuckle*
Well, yes i would agree.
I just want to make sure you understand this will be a difficult thing for you to learn, is all. But if it's what you want I will teach you when I can, and we can check with other mages in the area if they are available to teach. Some very basic things are;
can you read and write. I know you can do alchemy, but i don't know if reading is required for that. Then I need to know your connection with water. Magic is based in water, so the better your connection the easier this may be.

Re: Maka knocking
Um.... nope! Orcs who read and write are stupid!
I'm great with Fire and Earth, but I got nothin' to do with water or air.

Re: Maka knocking
Well that is why I needed to know. Reading and writing is required for learning magic. At least it is in the way I know to teach.
We will have to get you mentors to learn all magic things then. While I am willing to mentor you occasionally I am not able to do it every moon. I cannot mentor you this moon, but I have to obligation that would prevent it next moon.
The first thing you have to learn is to read and write, and then you will also need to learn to read and write magic. It's the only way I can teach you. I have known one orc who was a shaman I believe maybe he has another way to teach magic if you don't want to learn to read and write. I'm not sure how to get a hold of him but his name was Flogda Green. Maybe you could check with the local orcs in the area to see if they have seen him recently. (oog I haven't seen him in 3 years or so, so not sure if he is still in the area)

Re: Maka knocking
I will so do that. But lets say I suck it up and learn to read and write and to read and write magic. What can I do then? Anything? What's after that? That's a lot of brain space!

Re: Maka knocking
well after that then very basically you still need to learn spell power, then I need to actually get a clarification from my teacher for your first spell slot. So why don't we wait till I get my clarification from my teacher before we do any mentoring.
*Aroura smiles at Maka*
We'll get this sorted out quickly. I don't mean to confuse the idea.

Re: Maka knocking
*well after a few minutes of Aroura seeming to space out*
Well it appears my memory was only a little confused.
First off yes you can cast from a scroll once you learn to read and write magic.
second I am able to get you to at least second tier should you want to put that much discipline into this.
But either way I cannot teach you this moon, if you can find someone else who might be free to mentor you in read/write. Next moon I can mentor you in read/write magic. And at that point we have to get you registered with the mages guild.
