Darthesis ambles slowly through the Inn
*** After walking one complete circle inside the Inn seemingly looking
*** for someone yet clearly taking in the whole rom, Darthesis walks
*** across to the back corner.
*** To each adventurer of Legacy that he passes he whispers the
*** following words.
"Meet me in the back corner, there are no enemies within earshot at this time."
Darthesis awaits to see who follows him to the corner. As soon as the first person arrives he starts small talk of no great import, it is obvious he is waiting for more to arrive.

*Spring approaches the corner with her hands cupped around what appears to be a pile of polished stones. Once she reaches the corner, she opens her hands, concentrates upon the stones, kneels down and drops them a few paces between herself and Darthesis - in the center of what she anticipates to be a small gathering, leaving room for others*

*** Darthesis has his back to the wall and is closely observing the
*** Inn as he speaks in hushed tones with the rest of those seated in
*** the corner.
First of all, I am watching the Inn closely. I am fairly certain, although nothing is 100% certain, that I can see if any Avyana, hidden or not, get close enough to hear us. I have also tested the walls and at this volume level we cannot be heard from outside.
I would highly advise that if we must speak at another time and I am not available, you seek out Mary Baker or Nyrhtak. Both of them possess a keen enough eye and ear to spot hidden enemies as well. There may be others in the town with this ability, but these are the ones that I would trust to do so well.
It would also be useful to have myself or Twilight in the area as well, as our abilities can be used to block those who attempt to divine our plans. I have placed a shield upon this place at this itme, and I believe Twilight has as well.
I do not deign to speak for the town or it's inhabitants. However I am under contract with the Baron to do what we can for Silverthorn's interests here in Legacy. We have sent a messenger to the Baron, however we do not know if it made it, or when or how he might get a message back to us. News from Tarragon and ensuring a report arrives there, would therefore seem to be our highest priority.
However, it would also be good for all to know what the status is here as I'm sure not everyone has received the full story. Anyone who wants to start feel free and the rest of us will fill in the gap or make corrections as we need to.
Chaos thrives on misinformation. Let us start by clarifying the situation, thereby bringing the smallest bit of order to this chaos.

*Vaellar moves out of his labratory area and with a small black drake curled around his neck makes his way over to the group while listening to what Darthesis is saying*
I have sent a message to Baron VonDroven appraising him of the situation here in Legacy as of Saturday night. I have not gotten any answers back, but that may be simply because he is not capable of responding in the same time frame that I am able to deliver messages.
I have not sent any other "messages" to him as of yet, but if we wish to construct a new message to inform him of the current situation I will be happy to send it to him. Any such messages would need to be limited to 20 words or less otherwise things can get very scrambled and miscommunicated by my messengers.

*Spring nods in agreeance to Darthesis when he mentions the Scry Shield*
If communication between ourselves and the Baron is of the utmost importance, we can always send him a dream. We can relay what we know - and he can assess the situation. We can then send another dream the next night to receive his response. As far as I can see, that may be our only option for two-way communication. The greatest downside is the necessity for protection of the dreamer's sleeping bodies.

I would say for now we use BOTH of the mentioned message delivery methods. We can star them after we finish discussing the current situation and have a good situation report for him.
Here is how I see it.
The undead attacked but were slowed down by the portal stone defenders and ourselves. The avyana were convinced to join the battle and did so within an hour of that start time. The two forces were about evenly matched in power. However the Silverthorn defenders, be they mercenaries, freeman, portal guardians, and ourselves... tipped the scales. Some with pure fighting prowess, but a good deal of it because the of the river and it's essence properties it was given. I saw entire hordes of undead dissolve in that river as well as the largest blood mist I have ever seen (which would have likely destroyed the battlefield utterly) be destroyed in that river.
With this slight change to the balance of power the Avyana were able to put on the offensive. However, a good deal of this balance had to do with their dark elven help, most specifically the necromancers with them. These dark elven necromancers were able to turn the tide by taking control of many of the red tear's front line forces.
After the Avyana pushed past us, and we helped them drive the undead across the river, the Avyana now hold one side of the river the undead the other... this may have changed but I'm not sure.
The Avyana behind the lines, here in the Legacy area are setting up an occupation force. I personally saw them escort under armed guard the portal guards back through the portal, with the portal mage, the Allerian, performing the transports. I do not know what the current status at the portal is, but it looked like it was happening without bloodshed.
The villagers around Legacy, as well as ourselves for now, are being left alone. They do not wish to create an enemy here until they need to, they have the Red Tear to worry about. Sylas may know more now that he's talked to an officer.
I've noticed that the number of Avyana in Legacy itself is dwindling. They are moving through supplies, and that will continue, but now that they know we don't have a famous bartender, I expect we'll see only a few around the Inn. That does NOT mean that they don't have spies around, so as I said before, do not talk of such subjects without a diviner guarding you as well as an expert at finding hidden people nearby.
The dark elves will come out only at night, so conversations become more dangerous during the night, as do any scouting activities.
Finally, the last activity I was directly involved in two days ago was the destruction of the dark elven necromancer who was nominally in charge of this area. He had over a hundred undead under his control at the time. I made myself look like an undead and destroyed him in front of the Avyana. This caused his undead to be loose and kill anything in sight. They did managed to kill a few score Avyana before they were stopped, and yes we did have to deal with some of them as well. However any necromancer here should be slain just to keep the undead at bay.
Also, I'm sure this incident, the slaying of the guard inside the Inn, and any others that might happen over the coming weeks will keep the Avyana uneasy. This should keep them from considering this area 'pacified'. My personal goal is to never let the Avyana consider this area pacified if possible. At that point we will be considered subjects of their realm.
From what I hear, the brutality, totalitarianism, and taxes they would extract would make it more painful than it is today.
And you all might rest better knowing that Rodrick's tax rates will keep me from ever considering doing useful work for the occupying army.

Well, who has additions, clarifications, or isssues with my status report. Let's make sure it is completely accurate in all our minds.

* to sylas*
looks like we'll have to have at least a third in our discussion to make sure we are not overheard by 'others'.
* to anyone*
I fear to ask this question, but did we loose any of our townspeople this past moon? the statement of "now they know we don't have a famous bartender" worries me...

We did not lose any Adventurers this past moon. I believe what Darthesis was touching upon was that it would appear as if Bombour left the area before Terragon Pass was closed to us. We have not seen, nor heard of his current whereabouts in some time - and the occupying Avianna were upset to see that there was no ale to be had.
