Well, I was only around for a part of the event due to work travel, but I had a pretty good time. Sounded like there were some miscommunications between the staff on some logistical points but that's sorta par for the course. Using packets was actually quite fun, though I now see why no one does it. Being extremely careful on the direction of my throws still lost me over 1/4 of my bag. Anyway...

The good: Actually using a warrior line so I could throw packets over their shoulders during the Avyana assualt. Foiling Llyshon by not having winged flight.

The bad: Dying. I blame Nelkie. If he had been there, I wouldn't have had to blow so many points teleporting people to the right locations.

The ugly: The mosquitos. Those things just killed my mood. I was so tired of being a pin cushion that by the time the battle that killed me got there, I actually looked forward to being able to walk back to the cabin. I now know what drain life feels like...

Okay, so, post event feedback.

I had a really fabulous time. Truely, up until Saturday night. The mosquitos, heat, and fact I forgot any form of acceptable bedding made it so I ended up leaving around 10:30. From now on I'm going to have to bring long sleeved shirts and pants or something. I was too tired to participate and too uncomfortable to wait it out or go to sleep.

Okay, the good: Lots of character development both skill and RP wise for Maka. I really enjoyed interacting with Klogg and several other PCs. There was always something to do, and honestly - the "we kidnapped olaf" plot they took trish and i on right before I left was so "us". I love that at every event I've been to there has been something really cool for her and I do to just us that makes us laugh and have a great time.

I like that I got let out of jail because I wouldn't shut up, I knew when I shot the bow at the group of people I was going to get in trouble, but I couldn't resist. It was fun.

There was only one thing I had to complain about game-wise the whole event, and that was the super incredibly long plot that I was asked to go on on friday. I ended up leaving and coming back an hour later and still spent over three hours on the plot. The problem was that there was a lot of fighting at first. Then... three of the whole group of characters sitting on the ground trying to solve a problem for hours and hours with absolutely nothing happening for everyone else. It would have been nice to have the occasional NPC to bat away. If there was a wave of creatures every 20 min or something I wouldn't have been bored at all. I'm not sure how to avoid being in these situations.

Overall guys, the last 4 months have been the best times I've had larping in my entire 8 year history of larping.

The Good: Getting to see so many of my friends that I have been missing so much the last few months!

The Bad: Andrew got pretty cranky. :(

The Ugly: You people didn't eat nearly as much venison as you promised! Stephen brought home almost all of it. *sigh*

The good: Plots and storylines. Having a lot to do. NPC's were awesome. The role-playing on Saturday night really improved and I had a really, really good time on Saturday. I really liked the ten minute interaction I had with the High Elven knight PC... it was nothing big, but just a cool roleplaying moment.

The Bad: My biggest complaint was the role-playing on Friday and Saturday morning on the PC end of things. While some of the PC's did a stellar job, I was annoyed at the amount of out of game chatter that was being bantered about and found it hard to stay in character. I'd like it if we could find some way of raising the level of RP overall. I'm not an RP nazi by any means, and some out-of-game conversations or jokes is okay, but it just seemed like there was a lot of it on friday and saturday.

The Ugly: Not taking home all of the leftover Venison. Had I but known, I would gladly be eating it right now.

just counted the mosquito bites on my knees. 31 on the left, 22 on the right. I don't even want to think about the rest of me. They could have at least given me a cup of oj and an "I donated blood" sticker.

i agree with the above posts about friday nights plot. i really enjoyed the plot but it was hard for me to not want to jump in and help on the puzzle. i'd say it was a learning experience for me to know when to try to figure it out and when to blow points in lore etc. for some help. other than that it was a great time. cool theme with that plot too. my favorite part was everyone singing along to the song drew wrote up. very neat ideas

my favorite part of this year so far has been being included on the high level plots. it has been a big rush to be fighting necromancers avyana kings and all kinds of stuff i shouldn't be anywhere near. it's been very refreshing as a under 500 point character to not feel a huge amount of level disparity between myself and the other PC's. so in conclusion, thanks everyone for making me feel included :)

I had a packed weekend with Grad parties but am very happy Kayla Dylan and I made the effort to come out!!! though we need to make it to a full event!!

I went on a plot right after we got dressed...being a distraction and getting the Avyanna gate open.... I'm glad Furgus was there... I haven't felt that needed in a long time as a healer!! though I went through just over half my strength in that one plot...

When we got back the sun went down and the mini vamp minions decended... At the inn the decision to go make sure the 4 traps didn't go off and kill the Kunapon coming up the valley. We felt very over powered but we needed to go and help our friends!! In 2 groups of 5 we went....thank goodness I had some potions and thankful for any of the potions that were given to me!! We were able to take our 2 traps...Things were great until the beastmen came to setoff the traps...Oh NO!! we lost 2 of our party members!! and I was down but not out....That was fun!! Challenging and I got to scream my head off...
At the first trap the beastman was Fesko. With one beastman left and Rae' (Kayla) says it's easier to say if you sing your calls....*9 edge, 9 edge* The rest of the scene was hilarious!! 3 against one Tristen, Rae' and I with Fesko will be a scene I will not soon forget.

When we got back, it was nice and cool, but was very uncomfortable with all the mosquitos...I had my sleeping bag on a bunk, my things in the cabin....but I just couldn't stay... :( we left at 2:30am

*added to my packing list again....mosquito net

By far the worst part were the bugs, OMG we may want to consider fogging the entire camp ground before an event, I think I have scars on my arms from the event!

Fun, really enjoyed the song plot, I think we were very close to solving it before the astrology pointed out the errors, :). I really enjoyed having the orc say over and over hey did you guys use that scroll we found and all the hoity totti lore type people being all like shhh orc boy we're trying to think and you're not helping speed things up with orc logic / ideas! I mean really what's an orc thinking trying to tell us how to read / figure out ancient riddle songs. Ah good times, still the fact that the scroll was in fact the key made it even better for me. :)

I will say that the hour long fight w/ klogg is still making my back hurt. Man it's been a week and I'm still in pain, I think he made me pull something. Good fight. And now I know his weaknesses for our next big battle! muhahahaha (in like ten year when he is old too)

all around I had a good time

I had a great time this event. I have to apologize for the final puzzle in my Lorecrafter plot Friday night for taking so long, but I will also add that it took way longer to finish than it should have, as was mentioned above, because folks didn't use the scroll at first. It was hard not shouting out something about it - you guys nailed it once you got on track though, and props to Lyshon for his singing debut! I'll also mention that it was supposed to be particularly hard, considering the reward that went with it. Still, I have noted the request for more frequent battles - I will not disappoint!!

The battle against King Rodrick was great. I was as prepared as I possibly could have been, and yet part way through I really didn't know if I was going to make it. Near the end I was getting ready to call out my safe word to get help from my allies. It was as epic as I had hoped. Klogg is about ready to put up his sword after that one.

I had a blast at the tournament Sat morning also, though I mostly watched. It was well put together with plenty of variety so characters of all ranges could participate in at least a couple fights.

Nice job all, and I hope to see everyone at our upcoming one-day.

This was my first event ever, and i have to say i was very impressed. The RP was excellent, i loved the plots, and i was included in plots i probably shouldn't have been on.

Good: The Gate Assult Plot, Great Combat and was easy to stay in Character.

Bad: Waiting for an hour while 3 PC's figured out the song portion.

Ugly: Mosquitos. I have a total of 48 bites (just from what i could touch, probably more on my back), no matter how much bug spray we'd apply, they were relentless.

and the swim after the last plot felt great, and soothed most of the pain of the bites.

Overall, had a great weekend and can't wait for the next events.
