How do YOU think the guard should be set up?

Post by Maka »

Okay, so I've been the Captain of the Town Guard the last few weeks, and I've been tryin mighty hard.

What I need now is YOUR ideas. How do YOU members of town think about Town Guard stratedgy and patrols?

What do you think I can do to run the guard better?

Where do you think guards should be stationed? Where and when should patrols be ran?

And before you jump all over me of course I can do this shit myself I'm just trying to please the town at large and serve YOU instead of myself.

The town guard is also taking donations of gear, money, potions, services.

I have thought about this and here are my suggestions.

1. Have at least 1 town guard on duty with in the town limits at all times.
2. When the town is attacked, the town guard will raise the alarm and guide the town folk in the best way to defeat the enemy.
3. Inforce the Kings laws in town
4. Help keep the peace in the town
5. Direct new comers to the proper folks or the Inn
6. Make sure the Inn is locked down at night

I don't expect the town guard to defend the town from all attacks, but I expect them to orginize and direct the town's defenses. There can be only one general in combat, and in my opinion is the town guard when the town is under attack.

Thank you Eddy.

I agree with you. There was someone in town at all times except during the tournament and wedding. The army manned posts during that in town to keep town safe. Actually the constable or me personally will always be here.

I am looking to set up some sort of guard post for people to come for general information too. Working on that.

What kind of safeguards do we have on the inn? If I could get a full description I can make sure everything is locked up properly at night.

as the former capt. i found that having two secondary commanders is very useful that way the guardsmen always have someone to go to when your not around. also remember you a Representative of the town and the thane so you should try to hold back and not be so impetuous. think before you act. it will serve you will.

well theres a lot of large rocks there i would use to make the guards stronger, there is a few suits of armor and old weapons there for training, a large tub of water i would use to help built endurance, and four or five pratice dummys. thats about it, oh and a few traps also.
