Hey, who owns land the inn is on? Who owns the inn?

If you wanted to build a building, where the hell would you put it?

Can an orc own land or a building?

land is owned by nobility only way to own land is to have it gifted to you since you can not buy it. The buildings on it belong to the people who payed to have them constructed. The land is owned by our thane, baron, duke, and lord silverthorn is kind of a way to look at it.

The buildings on this land can be seized at any time by those nobles or really any noble... It's just they normally don't do it since it can be seen as bad form and cause political issues. Unless it's the ruling noble then they can do what they wish unless someone higher up says other..

if you want to build a building though it depends on what your wanting to build.

There is already concessions unless it changed to allow the construction of a merchant district so if it was a merchant building then you would be able to construct within that location other wise you will need to discuss that with the thane.

a Orc could possible own land since we have other non human races that do ...

So if I were talkin' with the Thane, I could ask him permission to put up a building somewhere? It can be tiny, I just want a place I can put wards on for my band and the town guard.

if it's for the town guard i would take it up with the council.

For your band since they deal in the trade of services for money that is merchant business so construction in the merchant district would be allowed.

If your wanting to build outside of it I would suggest bringing a gift to the thane.

Keep in mind building is not cheap or quick I suggest having a brick in funds and understanding that it can take a several moons or years to do.

Where is this merchant district? do i have to pay for space to build there?

What kind of gift for the thane?
