TOWN COUNCIL MEETING
Posted: Fri Jul 22, 2011 11:04 am
Here ye, here ye! I have been asked by Maven, head of House Mandalor, and Cudar, head of House Toevass, to call a Town Council Meeting to order.
Cudar is currently working now to assemble the Council members so that we have quorum. Once enough Council Members have arrived, we will begin the meeting.
On the table today is a bold proposal by House Mandalor which will follow the Thane's tax instructions to a T, will slightly increase the tax revenue he gains, but will REMOVE THE BURDEN from our fine Merchants in town who have been asked to bear this burden.
Please understand that this will ONLY affect you if you pay taxes here in town. If you find that your tax rate has increased, but you have moved your business and living arrangements outside of Midway, you will NOT receive the provisions that the Town Council will be voting on. If you have not yet moved your business, I implore you to reconsider moving it outside of Midway, at least until this business has been decided.
Under this proposal, House Mandalor is asking to bear this Burden FOR the people, but we are not asking to do this alone. If approved by the Town Council, I feel that our Merchants will truly understand how much their business is appreciated here in Midway; Both by the Council and by House Mandalor.
I will explain the details of the plan as soon as we have quorum.
