*Kenric enters the tavern, with Adoven following behind him*

"Has anyone seem Flamyras or Jacob Skress? I have something I'd like to discuss with them."

He seemed pretty angry, I don't think people quite understand me here, what a queer little place this is. What happened to your eye?

"Well, when I was 14 one of my brothers and I were practicing our swordplay. Everything was going good as usual until my brother stepped into a grass covered hole during a lunge and lost his footing. It was a a good thing the sword didn't go too far and only took my eye."

*Kenric touches his eye patch*

"To this day that was the only time his blade ever managed to touch me."

Hmm... Are you sure that's how it happened? If I were you, I would create a riveting tale of dragons, maidens, and that you lost your eye defending your kingdom.

"Ha! I'm not ashamed by the truth. Why should I be? A real man shouldn't have to lie for any reason, especially a man of the law."

It wouldn't be lying! Stretching the truth perhaps. "My brother and I were sparring, when out of nowhere, We were ambushed by pirates! We fought valiantly, but unfortunately the pirate captain managed to take my eye before I slayed him." Something of that nature.

"Stretching the truth, embellishing, misdirection, those are all just lying by different names. Also, if I were to lie about that and someone found out, how could they really trust anything else I had to say? And as a member of House DeVris, that can be pretty important. Plus it'll make the real tales of any adventures I have that much more important."

*Kenric addresses the bar*

"Can anyone make change for a wald? I owe Jason Blackstone some money."

Dragons? Like anyone would believe someone could battle much less slay a dragon. Who would believe a tale like that.

*Adoven laughs, and it sounds like it has probably the funniest thing he's ever heard*

Jack hands Kenric change for a wald.
