From behind the bar

Jack makes himself busy, writing down case notes and filling mugs. Every so often he leans down and squeaks a few words to the armed squirrel guarding the tip cup. Chuckling at the some of the squirrel's replies or nodding with serious contemplation at others, the two seem to idly chat until Jack pours an ale into a customers mug, then pick back up were they left off. As the minutes roll on, the man and squirrel look around at several patrons, squeak back and forth, and laugh some more.

"Who on earth was foolish enough to let you behind the bar, Jack?"

Cudar sits down and offers his mug up to be filled.

"Dwarven Ale, if you have it."

Looking around at the fairly busy room, he nods to those he recognizes.

"Anyone seen Edrick? I finally finished a translation for him."

*walks out from the room behind the bar at the mention of foolish he grins*
"That would be me."
*grabbing Cudars freshly filled mug he drains it and grins even wider*
*to Jack*
"Another drink for our friend." *wink*
*to Cudar*
"If you do find Edrick tell him Im looking for him. I want to finish his training."

"Foolish fits you perfectly, brother. I understand it now."
*Cudar grabs his refilled mug and drops a coin on the bar.*
"And a toast to you, thane. I can, of course, get it done for you. What is it you're training him in? And more importantly," he says with a wink, then adopts a mock-guthrie voice "Are you paying taxes on your fee?"

"I trust things are going well Cudar. Staying out of trouble I hope."
Jack scans the room, eying each new customer as they walk through the door.
"This place has been filling up with more and more strangers as of late. More new faces to remember."

"I spent much of the month training under an Orc bladesman. Learned some very interesting tricks to show you, next time you desire some practice. Bit, yes, I've stayed mainly out of trouble. Apparently the trio-combat I fought in earned me enough respect not to be killed on sight."
Cudar looks around again, seeking out easily recognized faces amid the crowd.
"You're right. Many and more that I've not seen, or haven't talked with in some time."

"I'll gladly practice some sword play in a short while. As long as you don't embarrass me too badly in front of everyone. I wonder if any one would join us, or maybe they're afraid to face a bureaucrat and a librarian."
Jack looks over the crowd. "Any takers, any here wish to keep they're skills sharp, or help sharpen ours"?

*Edrick walks into the bar*

Morning my frinds, it's good to be home again. The orc's where interesting but I won't miss them to much. After beening beat down by them and getting my leg cut off, I had enough fun to last me for a while.

Jack, I'll take mead.

*Edric pulls out his books and starts going over them*

*looking up as he fastens his sword belt*
"Ah, Edrick. Perfect timing. We're about to leave. We have stops in Blackwell, Tarragon and Legacy."

"Jack, nevermind that mead."
*hands Edrick a skin of wine and grabs one for himself*
"Ready?"

Jack corks the bottle of ale and shrugs.
"Very Well Sylas. I do have business to attend to. I will return soon."
Already dressed for the road, Jack makes his way out the door.

"Ug. Dont call me that"
*drains Cudars mug yet again, then makes for the door on Jacks heels*

"Cudar, dont just sit there. Theres a thirsty man at the bar. Get him a drink."
*winks on his way out the door*
"Keep an eye on the bar."

"Of course, brother. Best luck in your mission, let me know if I can help."
*Cudar hops up and fills his drink from behind the bar.*
"Step right up, then. Drinks on the thane til he returns."

Jack walks back in and approaches the second squirrel living at the bar. He speaks to it briefly, it squeaks back and then jumps up onto his shoulder. The two turn to exit, and leave without a word.

*Sir Llyshon opens the door and looks about the Inn. He appears to be even more pensive than usual. He steps over to the bar and seats himself heavily in front of it, motioning to Cudar briefly, "I'll take a Dwarven Ale, Cudar."
