*as the sun rises, the sound of rowens voice can be heard booming orders*

"grab a long sword and a shield"

"pair up and pay attention"

"today i am going to teaching you the basics of sword and shield tactics"

"you come over here and attack me"

*sounds of swords and shields colliding fill the air*

"good you see how i stopped all of his attacks that is known as the {insert some random shield defense tactic here}"

"now i want you and your partner to repeat want i have just demoed"

" dont fall back, spread your legs bit more that will give you a better foundation"

Cudar walks to one of the pairs who are training and adjusts their grip on the longsword slightly.

"Make sure to throw your shot either towards the head or at the chest. Waist and below will only get you killed yourself."

Cudar step back and lets them spar for a moment.

"Much better."

*at the far end of the row a loud thump is heard followed by a squeel*

"Im soo sorry! Please dont be mad. Um Captain.. we have a bleeder! And I think he passed out.. I dont know first aid!"

Cudar walks to the end of the line and pours a light healing potion into the guard's mouth.
"Wake up there, mate. Make sure to keep your shield up a bit higher in the future. If all else fails, block with your sword and counterattack from there. Back to work you two."

*rowen walks up to "the bleeder"*

are you alright?

take a moment and regain you composure.

*looks at the other guardsman*

i will take over sparing with you now

*gulp*

*Dorian walks up, Speaks a few words to Rowen and than takes the bleeder in search of a healer.*

Its fine, happened to plenty of times, you'll be okay.

Hey Rowan, I'm ready to help.

*Kathryn joins Rowan in teaching the guardsmen*

Dorian returns with the previously bleeding guard who now looks as good as new.

Dorian gives the guardsmen a sword and unsheathes his own.

You will be practicing with me now.

*Dorian grins at the mention of his name*

Scarlet grins, "Wear it...or wear it out?" She snickers, I'm not exactly a warrior, but I'm personally looking forward to this one. It will certainly make my jobs a lot easier."

hey red you dont have to attend dorians class i will teach you personally, i know that you prefer the lighter side of armor as do i, but i would like to keep the guards in one place so we will meet at the same time and place. oh ya you might want to get as much sleep as possible.

zen comes jogging up to the inn, out of breath, carrying only his staff, the flame atop it burning brightly.
