Making Introductions

A heretofore unknown elf drops a note off at the tavern.

Greetings good adventurers!

My name is Locien, the scribe. My mistress Naerwen wished me to make known that we will soon be joining your community, and we seek to make the friendly acquaintance of those of similar interests. In particular, I am aware of the need for my mistress to register her magical abilities, and seek information on how to best do so. For my own part, I would like to meet those who are connected with the scribe's guild, that I might ply my trade legally in our community.

Best regards and wishes,
Locien

Raedir passes through the inn loving notes he reads it and makes a note on the bottom in very nice calligraphy and it reads

"Greetings friends and magi, I am Raedir the Ga'Vin Second of the Mages Guild. I would be honored to meet you and register any magi. You can often find me around the inn, see you soon."

A gnome in a purple and black hat rushes into the inn.

"Hm...I'll come back later. Maybe they'll be back by..."

He stops, a notice catching his attention.

"A new scribe? Wonderful!" he says as he extracts a quill from his bag and begins writing in a hurried, tight script.

Locien,

Hello!

Welcome to Midway! My name is Wrexton and I am the second of the local Scribes and Booksellers Guild. As such, please do not hesitate to approach me. We are always happy to find new members!

All you need to do is look for the gnome in a purple hat. That's me...most likely. Can't guarantee this, though, seeing as there are a lot of hats. In fact, should you be in need of one...well, that can wait till we meet.

In the meantime, stay safe and I hope to meet with you soon!

*Res takes a crumpled piece of paper out of his pouch and makes a half-hearted, and completely unsuccessful, attempt to smooth it out. He scratches something down on it in barely legible handwriting*

That's a lot of words. Let me fix that for ya so the common folk can understand it:

"I'm Locien. I work for Naerwen. We're coming to join the town and wanna meet ya. She's a mage and wants to know where to register. I write good and wanna sell my pretty handwriting services."

- Res Ipsa

p.s. looking forward to having a drink with ya.

A very neatly scribed reply is penned in next to Res'

"Thank you, Res Ipsa, for the translation service. It appears I will have much of the local vernacular to learn.

Best wishes,
Locien

PS a drink sounds lovely"

I see you haven't changed Res. Not one bit. *laughs*
