It is true that the maximum span of a writ is one year - all the better for you to keep tabs on businessfolk and what they are up to. However, also according to the national charter, all taxpayers must keep a tax ledger and update it monthly, including the amount of taxes paid. Of course, as with all of our good King's laws, this is fairly crystal clear. If a tax payer is to keep a monthly ledger and update it monthly with the amount of taxes paid, then clearly they are required to pay taxes monthly as well. This, of course, makes it easier for our fair King and his advisers to plan a budget from month to month as it would be difficult in this economy for most taxpayers to save up and pay yearly taxes. I suspect there would be many more in delinquency if yearly taxes were the case.

I also have a full copy of your local charter as it was introduced by Antonio Rocinante. If your local charter has been updated since then to say differently, then you will be so kind as to provide a copy to House DeVris so we may be apprised of the situation.

If you have a full copy of that charter I would love to have a copy of it.

*smiles*

I'm sure you would. However, there is the cost of the scribe to consider, since it is quite lengthy.

Of course you are. Yet another way to ply your trade, obviously.

It being such a lengthy document, though, it would also take considerable time. My time is quite valuable to me, and I don't desire to leave such a precious document out of my care. How much is my time worth to you?

Hey, you can leave the document with me to watch it and watch him with it!

*Puts a finger to her chin thoughtfully*

Then, of course, there is the thought that perhaps I should require a third-party scribe without vested interest in what the document says. I find that people who read something without expectation of what it says, often make the least number of mistakes in the reading and scribing of something.
