C.A.R.P.S.

[Jack of Spades]

"Honestly, no place in particular." Jack continues to walk with Sophia. "How have you been lately?"

[lady sophia]

"I have been well as of late. Thank you for asking." She is quickly becoming agitated with the small talk, and formality between the two.

[Jack of Spades]

"Lady Sophia," Jacks stops in his tracks and pulls her around into his arms. Folding his arms around her he holds her against his chest. "I missed you."

[lady sophia]

She melts into the hug.

"And I missed you as well Mr.Maxwell."

[Jack of Spades]

*Jack doesn't let go, in fact he holds her a little tighter.*

"Please my lady, call me Jack."

[lady sophia]

Sophia smiles as Jack holds her.

"As you wish Jack."

[Jack of Spades]

*Jack gives a sideways glance at the guards flanking them*

"A gift from your father?"

[lady sophia]

Her smile fades slightly.

"It was the only way I could get him to agree to let me out of the house." Her disdain for being escorted is apparent.

[Jack of Spades]

*Jack nods to the guardsmen*

"Thank you for escorting Lady Sophia. I am in you dept for her safe keeping." Looking to Sophia. "He just wants to make sure you're safe. These are dangerous lands."

[lady sophia]

"According to him you're the danger that I face." She chuckles. "Could he be right?" she teases. She fiddles with a ring while waiting for Jack to lead her onward.

[Jack of Spades]

"He could be." Jack says in return. "After all he is only looking out for you, as fathers do." Jack leads her onwards through the town.

[lady sophia]

"I wish he wouldn't look out for me so much. Sometimes it's suffocating." She pouts again. The guards refuse to keep their distance and sophia scowls.

*Jack and Sophia continue to walk and talk, moving out of ear shot from the tavern*
