"I have only ever been a Magistrate as far as the House in concerned. I think you'll do well as a Magistrate with the right guidance. If you wish to become a Cavalier later, that is your decision. Just know, before anything else, I will make you learn to read and write and, you will learn how to conduct yourself around other House members properly. When I feel you have learned all I can teach you, I will ask you again if you wish to be a Cavalier and see where we are. Those are my terms."

"Laws and all that, very interesting I'm sure. You want to be a better bladesman, join house toevass. All skill is merely knowledge and we are the epitome of knowledge. If you'd like to learn more about it, I'd urge you to speak with me. Even if you are not interested in my house, I'd be overjoyed to spar with you some time."
With that, Cudar packs his books away and prepares to leave.
"The path I hoped for was not so unlike yours once. I've found myself far happier where I've wound up.
Jack, we should speak before we mark the anniversary of receiving our gifts. I plan on consulting the stars to see if there are any actions we need to take."
Finally finishing his packing and nodding to those in the tavern he recognizes, Cudar strolls out.

*Kenric turns to Jack*

"Your terms are acceptable. It will please you to know that I can read and write in the common tongue and have a basic understanding of the rules of etiquette within House DeVris."

(Read and Write and Etiquette are both level 1)

[Jack of Spades]

"Excellent. We'll speak more when I return from Ironguard in two weeks time. Or you can come with me and, start learning now."

[Kenric Sayne]

"If I can start learning now, then I would enjoy joining you on your travels."

[Jack of Spades]

"Very well, pack your things. I have to do something first but that should only take a few minutes. Meet me at the fire pit outside the tavern in fifteen."

*Jack grabs his things and leaves The Silver Rose.*

*still looking at her book*

And should you find the need to become better acquainted with a long sword, you need not go so far as House Toevass. I've been known to skewer a thing or two in my day, and I hear Jack isn't so bad with his sword either.

*She glances to the door, where Jack just disappeared, then smiles at Kenric*
