We run a fairly realistic game world. You are living in a law abiding Kingdom. It's fine to be a thief or even an assassin, but you don't want to advertise it ingame. You would just advertise as an adventurer, a retrieval specialist, whatever you want to go with. If it gets out you steal for a living, the law will be on you. If they find out you kill any anyone without a good reason, the law will be on you.

There are thieves and assassins in game, but rarely do you hear them called that. They either do it 100% legal, or they're good at hiding it, at least proof of it.

Our game system allows you to play almost any type of character and be helpful and have fun while roleplaying, so choose anything, just think about living in a 'good' kingdom. If you say "I kill for money" the law will be watching. If you actually do it and it turns out to be a citizen of the kingdom... expect jail time or worse.

Also, please shrink the photos on the sig file. Both the spoon and this are more than a bit too big. I can implement size limits on the site, but I'd rather not have to.

And even if you kill a non-citizen, while the law may not get you, their friends or adventurers in Midway will.

Though it is rare, Nobility can kill people beneath their station legally. There are PC nobles in game. If you run around knocking off non-humans, I can gaurantee that either one of the PC nobles would take you down, or you would "disappear" quietly, and no one would bother looking in to where you went.

Yep, it's a fantasy world, but the only way to give 'good guys' a reason to exist is to have a reward for being 'good'. We may not do it perfectly but realize that if you want to play a 'bad guy' you're going to have to hide that you're a bad guy.

Or just know the rules (read: loopholes) better than the 'good' guys till they change them so you can't do that anymore... ;)

Sigh, I miss CARPS in the mid 90s. Ok, not really except the being in college part which meant tons of free time...
