few questions from a prospective first timer

Hi! I'm really excited for my first time LARPing, but I have a few questions about the event.
  • i was told to let them know ahead of time about whether I want the meal plan or not. I'm not sure who to tell that to.
  • What's the bathroom situation like?
  • how many people usually come to this?
  • should I go with heavy (still waiting on gauntlets, chainmail, and helm) or light armor?

There is a thread here on the forums that you can post on for the food plan.

We have full bathroom with flushing toilets and there are showers as well on the order of campground showers.

We been having 60-80, closer to 80 lately.

As for armor it depends on what kind of character you are paying and what your skills are. Have you figured that out ywt?

I have worked with a marshal (i think was their title) to get a rogue character set up and in the system.
but I'm really in love with the idea of heavy armor. Are we allowed to have more than one character on file? I think the rulebook says 3?

You can have up to 3 characters on file, but as a starting player its hard to manage more than one. Heck I've been playing awhile and I've only played my second character once in the last year and a half. Heavy armor is hard with a rogue character, not impossible but hard. First you can't really sneak in all that metal, its also shiny and reflects light.

BTW I think I'm that marshal.

If so, hello again.
I don't plan to use heavy armor with a rogue, but I don't know if I'll have decided which of two characters to play until close to the event. I'm going back and forth a lot.

no problem. Take your time, the whole point is to play a character that you have fun playing.
