So... Kim tells me we need to throw another party. Kim also points out that our Starcraft parties went over well for the true video gamer geeks. She points out that we have room for StarCraft 2 LAN party and for all the non-LAN gamers as well. She wants to hang out with friends while others play StarCraft 2. So, I'm posting this out there. StarCraft 2 was just released (and I'm happily trying it out). Thus, we shall have a party for everyone on August 21st.
The computer room plus one other room will be setup for LAN gaming. Wired and wireless will be available, and multiple computers are available for use as well if you can't bring yours (just let me know so we don't run out!). If you want to play either buy a copy of Starcraft 2 or at we can at least fit you in a game or two when one of us sits out. The game plays much like the original StarCraft so don't be TOO worried that you'll be lost if you haven't played it yet.
The living room, TV, Pool Table, Kitchen, Deck, and Hot Tub are all available for non-LAN players. Last time we had a few non-gamers show up as well and they found things to do. This time we're INVITING non-gamers as well, it'll be a dual action party. BYOB, and I'm sure the gamers will start to fall by the wayside and join the 'normal' party (well as normal as we get...) later in the evening. Kim has decided to find and produce snacks of a StarCraft Theme. We will have Terran food (astronaut ice cream, tang, other astronaut food stuffs). Other people are welcome to contribute some themed foods or drinks as well, just let me know what you have in midn. There will be some normal snacks available as well. Pizza can be ordered if people get hungry.
The Party will start in the afternoon so the LAN gamers can get going early and non-gamers can show up at that same time and join the early crew, or show up later in the evening when the drinking will be going in earnest and things will get a bit crazy I'm sure. The last party only lasted for 28 straight hours, so you never know on this one. Those who want to crash for the night are welcome to, and we'll at least have floor space, and a few lucky people will get the spare bed, the couch, or the air mattress. We found everyone who arrived at the last party eventually, so being lost forever shouldn't be a major issue at least.
Just post here if you're interested so we know how much food to get and if you actually plan to play Starcraft II so I know how much room to set aside for computers.
