26
In time, the Stag shall raise his head and call the tribes to war.
Treaties set anew will face strain and their bonds will grow weak.
But as all things rise and fall the Stag will lay low his rack,
Making way for the vigor and youth of the new beast who forms his pack,
With their new greatness found and the old ways unbound,
With an honor beyond their ancient ways, they become the new guards of the staff.

Please discuss below.

Again, I got this from talking to Twilight.

I think due to the barbarians and all mention in this...it is talking I believe about Thane Galen.

Then allow me to intervene before any rumor may get out of hand. Thane Galen does not believe this stanza has anything to do with him.

Works for me, just that is what popped into my head when I heard it the first time.

Sorry, how about I let you talk before I say anything. This is your area, not mine.

*her eyes widen slightly at the word "Stag"*

I have heard the Thane can make a Stag appear from his own body. You have said that the Thane does not believe this passage is in reference to him, but I do not think we should discount it.

I do not either.

So, lets just say for a moment that the Stag refers to Thane Galen. In that case, this passage:
In time, the Stag shall raise his head and call the tribes to war.
Treaties set anew will face strain and their bonds will grow weak.
may refer to the Barbarian tribes he now works to unite. It seems to indicate that the treaties he is using to unite the tribes may come under strain, but the passage goes on to assure us that the Stag will hold it together.

To continue in that line:
With an honor beyond their ancient ways, they become the new guards of the staff.
This passage seems to indicate that the Barbarian tribes will then become the guardians of the Staff. The same staff as listed previously? It seems likely.

Humm...seems to add up to me and it would make sense for I could see Galen doing something like this.

*Looks at Twilight*

That is if this "Stag" is refering to Thane Galen.

All I say is he denies it. And who am I to dispute the Thane?

Fair enough and me either.

Just like you, just have a feeling on that one for it fits what all he has done.

Ah well, guess we start thinking about something else that might fit.

Although I do not dispute the Thane, for it is not my place in this Kingdom, prophecies have a way of including those who do not want to be included.

Ummm....maybe Winter we could talk this over with Sylas and then he could talk to Galen more about it?

I mean we have already been discussing Ryfisto, Lukas, Jarrick and all those other seasonal vampires, the Queen of Alleria...

<Jenna starts to laugh and chokes on her drink>

Good one, Fate. It should be simple enough to look into. Though has the good Thane mentioned to anyone why he thinks it's *not* him? Me, I'd be flattered to be mentioned in a prophecy alongside Kings. Good company, that. An' as the wise fool said, "The greatest heroes are those that know not their greatness."

Does this mean that the Thane must step aside and let someone else lead the Barbarian peoples?

Yes, Solari. I would take this to mean that whoever the Stag is, they will find an apprentice of sorts, a younger individual to take their place.
