24
After the last Great War, dark powers arose to enslave.
Generations passed before a pirate would fight the masters.
Rulers handsome but dark of heart, banished from Bough, then from stone,
Cast away to the high flat lands of the north: forgotten,
Yet the stone remains, its name given from Bough, now means Noble,
Those old Rulers had sons, and daughters too,
Told tales of glory, wealth, power, magic, and legacy.
Now come forth to lay claim once more.

Ok, so this suggests that we might see an army forming out near the Corsairs.

Dwarves

Could this be about the upcoming return of a group of dwarves as was suspected by Jenna in one of the other stanzas? Perhaps a group of seafaring dwarves who return to claim there place in the dwarven lands?

Just a thought,

That is possible.

Tales of magic would not be told by dwarves. "Bough" and "stone" have priviously implied the High Elves in some way ("halls", and the city of stone Silven'Dar, respectivley).

If Bough means Noble, is there not a noble family for the Dwarves?

Perhaps Tee is correct, a Noble Dwarven family cast away from their home of stone, returning to claim the throne.

And as far as magic is concerned, would the Dwarves never tell tale of magic?

As I know not much of the Dwarves, this is all speculation of course.

I have been to the Corsairs and I cannot think of who these dark of heart handsome rulers could be, If need be I could try to get aboard a boat headed for the Corsairs and refresh my memory as it has been some time since my travels have taken me there.

*Twilight looks up from her notes*

I have discovered that this Stanza refers to the Great Plateau.

The Stanza can be interpreted as such;

After the last Great War, dark powers arose to enslave.
After the Essence War, the Mageocracy took over.

Generations passed before a pirate would fight the masters.
700 years passed before one came forth to stand against the Mageocracy.

Rulers handsome but dark of heart, banished from Bough, then from stone,
Elven rulers were banished from Syl'Van'Dar, then from Silverthorn.

Cast away to the high flat lands of the north: forgotten,
Cast away to the Great Plateau and forgotten.

Yet the stone remains, its name given from Bough, now means Noble,
Yet Silverthorn remains, its name given from Syl'Van'Dar.

Those old Rulers had sons, and daughters too,
Told tales of glory, wealth, power, magic, and legacy.

Those banished Elven Nobles had children, they passed on the story of their banishment.

Now come forth to lay claim once more.
The descendants of those banished Elven Nobles now return to lay claim to Silverthorn.

*Twilight sighs, a deep saddness in her eyes*

a thought...

Twilight,
Is this why you believe an army of Elves may be on it's way to fight with Silverthorn? I had sent word to Brent DeVris already, but my mnd was so tired that the actual details of the information escapes me.

Now that I can clearly see the interpretation of that stanza I have a question. Why would they return to Silverthorn, when they actually should want to be reclaiming Silvan'dar? Am I reading that incorrectly? Or do you mean the Kingdom rather than the actual city itself?

Eh? Syl'Van'Con? You must be getting sleepy. Or should we start warning wood elves?

*Twilight sighs deeply as she rubs her eyes*

I apologize; I did not mean to mention Syl'Van'Con. I had meant Syl'Van'Dar. Perhaps I should be getting more sleep ... I just don’t want to feel responsible that I did not spread the word quickly enough.

*she turns to Mary*

Yes, this is why I believe an army of Elves may be marching on Silverthorn.

*she sighs*

I do not know why they wish to march upon Silverthorn rather than Syl'Van'Dar, nor do I know if they mean to march upon the City of Silverthorn, or the Kingdom. I only know the message this Stanza gives forth. Which is why we had urged those who are capable of spreading word to send word to both the City and the northern border of the Kingdom.

*she sighs deeply*

I only hope they receive the message in time, and take heed of the warning. Now is not the time to be lax …

Dear, you must get some rest. I know, we all know the urgency of these tasks. I can understand about burning the midnight oil, but it's also important that you keep your health and sanity. To truly be most effective, you need to be at the top of your game. Take a break. I can wake you in a few hours if you like.

*Twilight smiles weakly*

Perhaps you're right, Mary ... and I thank you for understanding.

*she stretches a bit and looks off toward the woods*

I think I will retire to the Tower for at least a few hours. Relax, meditate, mayhaps get a bite to eat. I will return later, and tackle this again with a clear head.

*with that, Twilight packs up her notes, takes a look around, nodding and smiling at those gathered and heads off toward the Mage's Guild Tower*
