18
He sees no better man than himself to rule a crippled world,
Years he has spent in preparation, armies and beasts now at his call,
And when the staff arises, He will plot its fall.

Please discuss below.

the Staff

Does this stanza seem to imply the same staff that is wielded by the great elven mage in one of the previous stanzas? Or is it perhaps another different staff?

Just something to consider.

Probably the same exact staff.

"And when the staff arises, He will plot its fall."

So when the staff is wielded, this guy will plot the destruction of the staff and the wielder.

A thought

Regis Mortum perhaps?

As the staff is referrenced as an item of light and essence to unite the magics of the elements....which would be very bad for him.

Just another thought, and since he is a major player in the world who has not yet been mentioned.

I didn't notice mention of the bowls in the prophecy. Doesn't he have to do with the bowls?

hmmm..

Neither do I except for the whole necromancer bell going off in my head.

Humm...those pieces of this elaborate puzzle make sense.

Does this Regis Mortum command armies and beasts? I had thought that maybe this was a cotinuing of the Gnome King angle, possibly him thinking to rule the world. But until his return none will know if he commands armies and beasts. Armies almost for certain but it's the beasts part that has got me wondering.

*Kimberlyn thinks for a moment*

Ummm...as far fetched as this may seem, but armies and beasts and all...

What about the warlord Nybrendal? He has an army and some beasties at his disposal.

*Kimberlyn ponders as if she might not exactly gotten the name correct and looks at Tee.*

You now Tee, the warlord who assisted you with taking down Regal.

You know...that's a good thought Kimberlyn, cause that guy fought on the side of Necromancers during the Essence Wars.

If anyone acts suprised that Nibyrndaal fought for the Necromancers, I'm gonna scream bloody murder cause I've only said it a million times.

Now don't get me wrong, working with Necromancers years in the past is not necessarily a horrible thing if the person has truely transformed.

I just don't know whether or not I can say that he has, we don't know enough about him.

*Twilight smiles at Nyrhtak*

Yes, Nybrendal did fight against the Essence Mages during the Essence War. He is a mercenary ... and we all know, mercenaries go where the money is.

*She smiles at Jenna and Darthesis*

It isn't so much that we trust Nybrendal. But like some other popular mercenaries I am certain we have all dealt with ... if you pay him, he does his job.
