5
Before the Second Breaking, their race was one,
Divided by ocean, now turned to dust.
They fought the Great War before Dark Eye scorched.
They wander by ship and skiff, under high sun,
They rest under shadow of the sleeping one.
Children of Dust, they wait for the Child of Bough.
Hoping to become One once more, lest live ever alone.
Blind the Dark Eye so they may hear the call.

Please discuss below.

Before the Second Breaking, their race was one
Pray forgive my ignorance on this but aren't they Elves and the Valkin'vi decended from the same ancestors?

We are all decendands of the Fey who chose to intermingle with the Andar and the Andar'Vi.

*Twilight smiles down at Tee*

My thoughts exactly, my friend.

*She addresses those gathered*

The Fire Elves were also spoken of in the Chronicle of the Essence War. They reside in the Sea of Dust. They have the same fate as the Maharu in that they are Magic Dead.

*Scratches the back of her head*

Ummm...could someone please tell me what a fire elf is?

And what does that make a Mahuru? I thought it was just a family name.

From what I have come to understand, Maharu are those magic dead as Waharu are those winged. Though, of course Nyhrtak would have a much better understanding of such.

I'm sure Nyrhtak would be better able to explain this, but as I understand it, there were once three noble families of Avayanna. To prevent the king from becoming too powerful, the heads of the three families formed a council which would offset his power. However, Redrick became powerhungry and sent his armies to attack one of the clans, the Mahuru clan. Most of the family were slain, as I understand it. Although I do not know for sure, I imagine that the King next came after the other two noble houses, the Wahuru's and the other who's name I do not know.

This probably does not help the prophecy, but perhaps it helps the smaller question.

My lineage was employed during the Essence Wars as mercinaries. When the Great Staff was utilized we and these fire elves you speak of became magic dead. We became some of the ultimate tools of destruction against the Necromancers.

From what I understand....there are only two of us left.

One of us has to die.

Keep your fingers crossed for me, could ya? :)

Oh yah, and careful what you say about all this 'fate' and 'destiny' stuff. If the Fire Elves "suffered the same fate" as us, then they've probably been mostly wiped out.

Redrick will pay for what he has done to the Houses.
