4
Before the Second Breaking, their race was one,
Hidden by oceans and seas of deep blue.
Speech without sound, words by thought,
They watch, they wait, but the reason forgotten.
They too wane in their arrogance, down below,
The sacrifices of others unknown and unmet.
Yet calm seas will be needed in the darkest hours,
Seek their consul, know their heart, that is their part.

Please discuss below.

Ok, been analyzing this section for awhile now and what I am about to say is ironic coming from me.

Were not dark elves and well normal elves one and the same before they all were corrupted?

I think this section might be in reference to them with the passage of "they wane in their arrogance down below" and the part of calm seats will be needed in their darkest hour.

If I am wrong, then so be it, but this thought has just been stuck in my head.

I believe this stanza refers to the Sea Elves spoken of in the Chronicles of the Essence War. They are now known as the Merfolk.

Merfolk?

*Thinks for a moment*

Only person who has had any real contact with them would be Rasolin then right?

Trust that there are more who may speak with the Merfolk than just Rasolin.

*Kimberlyn pauses and thinks*

Oh yeah. I know of another. She was just the first person who came to mind.

So who shall seek their counsel so that we may know their mind?

*Twilight's features take on a look of deep concentration as she sifts through the pages in front of her*

I will try and find the time to visit with the Merfolk this coming moon.

I am going to Ports End in a day or so.... I could go to speak to them if you like.... what do you need to know?...

*Twilight reguards Rasolin with almost the same dumbfounded look she gave Kimberlyn a few moments ago*

Well, just show them this stanza, indicate that we know it concerns them, and see if they may have some sort of insight for us.

*she sighs as she points to the last line of the stanza*

In other words, Seek their consul

Rasolin, if you would like I could accompany you. I need to travel to Port's End as well. A few things that I would suggest you ask them is what part did they play in the Essence War, If they know of the coming War and whether they plan to be a part of it. I would assume that would cover the "know their heart" part.

Thank you, Balthazar.

*she sighs again, cross-referending the Prophecy with the Chronicle of the Essence War*

We need to assure the Merfolk that we wish them to be allies and not enemies. Stress that we also desire calm seas in the dark hours to come ...
