The Bloodmoon

As the bloodmoon gains strength for the upcoming weekend the newly formed town of Legacy prepares itself for whatever this dark month brings.

The guards are restless and quiet, they drill to keep in shape but they can sense something in the air, as can everyone in town. Something is coming, something is preparing, something will happen soon. The whole town barely stirs in the silence that often comes before a storm is unleashed.

The fog of the morning and night comes earlier and stays later each day and it seems as if the very sun itself may have left the town to fend for itself, yet each morning it eventually creeps over the horizon and slowly burns away the fog that has formed....

The physical fog that is. Over the past several days the towns diviners have noticed the clarity of vision they are familiar with is not so clear anymore. There appears to be a hazy shroud that is making it difficult to see the unseen for those who read the stones, the stars, the cards, or any other rites of soothing. Even those who call upon the elements of the world to fortell what is to come find the visions weak and hazy at best.

This unseen fog seems to be getting thicker as the bloodmoon gets nearer. Whatever is coming, it does not want its presence known and by the middle of the week before the bloodmoon everyone in town can sense a sort of haze or "brain fog" if you will that makes focusing of thoughts slightly more difficult.

Something comes with the bloodmoon....

Something Quiet...

Something Dark....

Something Mysterious.....

All divining attempts to to learn what it is...have failed.

Late one night while entering the Inn, a town guard discovers a hurriedly scrawled note pinned to the door. He enters the Inn and looks to Bombour and Sylas. He states that he found the note and reads it aloud to them. The note states:

Code: Select all

I had some items to speak with you all on, but...well, talk to your soothsayers. I've skipped town and hope to be back someday.

Take care.
