Each is wreathed in fine robes and exquisite jewlery. Obvious magical power surrounds them. They approach the barkeep, to whom one of them speaks with authority in thickly accented common, loud enough for all within to hear.

"I am looking for the Elf who calls himself Zen."

zen rises from his seat against a wall in the bar, grasping his burning staff.

"i am zen, are you from the elven delegation?"

The Elves turn from the bar and approach Zen. "Indeed. I am Ithavian Meld’salar, ambassador to this... rustic little town - which explains my presence here. What purpose have you this far from civilization?"

i came here to gain a working knowledge of magic, one i thought only aquireable in the field. and what better place to do so then in the wild. perhaps we could speak privately, i wouldnt wish to upset the natives.

*from across the room spoken in seemingly intentionally badly pronounce elven"

very true, you most certainly would not want to upset us natives, I hear we can be quiet restless....

*changing to perfect elven*

wait, what in the planes am I talking about, I don't live here... okay carry on

*waving his hand as if to dismiss them he turns back to his book*

Ithavian cocks an eyebrow at Diven, then returns his gaze toward Zen and sighs heavily. “The young these days are so willful. I could try to save you many years and much hardship by assuring you everything worth knowing is conveniently available in Sil’van’dar libraries. However I know the advice will have little impact. Some people need to experience first-hand how the world beyond our wards holds no value.”

“Come, then. Let us enjoy some fresh air.”

oh, and I can asure you to the contrary, your librarys are great indeed, but to say they know all worth knowing is perhaps the most ignorant thing i've heard all week, and if age was a judge of wisdom i don't think Sil’van’dar would have become the boring and sheltered place it is today.

but the again, what could I possibly know.... oh wait, I know that one thing.. but we don't talk about that out here in the sticks do we?

by Sir Llyshon
*Llyshon emerges from one of the inn's rooms and says, in perfect elvish, to Divin, "I do not think even they believe there is nothing of value outside of their Kingdom, or Queen Anvea would not have sent them here." *He now turns his attention to the delegation and states directly to them, still speaking the Elvish tongue* "I heard that the Elves were in attendance. I thought it was only a matter of time before Elvish memory recalled the slaughter of their ancestors, and the Great Sacrifice that was made to stop Shri'Illi Anguin, who the humans call 'Regis Mortem'. I am glad that the Elves have come."
