Runs a hand through his beard as he thinks for a moment.

“Now that you mention it… How do you tell an undead spider from a live one? Well, their carapaces seemed… odd… detached. Haw, almost like they were wearing armor, if you could imagine that! They’ve only attacked at night, but they have been sighted far afield during the day. And when they attack… I’m sure it’s all instinct, but I could swear they used coordinated tactics – feints, thrusts, flanking maneuvers, rearguards… If they were intelligent I’d swear they were testing our defenses…”

"Spiders? Naw! Even the big ones ain't that bright. Though it'd be some concern if they were - my boys are tough, but there's no way we could hold the Highlands against a determined attack. Not like Moorwatch. Don't know who's running the show up there, but they've got it together! Hear them fighting off monsters from the swamps almost every night. More organized than seasoned Legion soldiers, if ya ask me!"
