Gems

The gems from the battle on Friday night are safely in my posession, and the funds will be distributed to all who participated once they have been sold.

It is my view that the money should be split thusly;

50% of the entire share of the gems should go only to those townsmen who were in the first wave of the attack.

The remaining 50% should be divided equally amongst those in the first wave and the second wave.

I am also of the opinion, however, that perhaps the money should be put into a town fund for the purchase of potions and other items of value for the town instead of split amongst the 30 or so participants. Things such as Raise Dead potions, Weapon Immunity potions, etc. could be bought and stored in a spot of safe-keeping for use in such situations. It seems to me that this money could be immensely more valuable to the town in this fashion. Rather than each of us receiving a small amount of share of a treasure (for every bar the gems are worth total, divided by thirty it would only come out to 3.3 verlan) we could use their total amount for a good many items that could be useful to the town in general.

*Sir Fredrick claps thrice from the door*

Bravo, Squire Lyshon. Your words speak well of your disposition. Promoting a town fund rather than more immediate rewards reveals that you focus upon the whole. T'would appear you have defeated the Vice of Gluttony.

*Pulls a large orange gem from a pouch and hands it to Lyshon*

You are tempered by your devotion to the Kingdom. Well done!

Please put any share of mine, from the quest, into a fund for the town. This moon I have gained sufficient monetary amounts to insure that my equipment does not rust. Besides while other may have spent a great deal on the battle my own fortitude was all that I expended and that does not come with a monetary cost.

*Kimberlyn gets up from where she has been meditation and walks over to Sir Fredrick.*

Sir Fredrick is it not? Might I please speak with you Sir if you have a few moments outside?

*Kimberlyn waits for a reply.*

I'd prefer to get my share, my whole share, and more than my share, if at all possible. One person's vice is another's virtue.

What?

Ah, Kimberlyn Darksbane! It does my heart good to see you and yours up and about once more - keeping the Kingdom safe from those whom would utilize the awesome powers of magic for ill gain.

Consider me at your disposal! Let us talk freely under the early autumn sun.

*Steps outside*

Llyshon, since the potions I used were from the Healer's Guild I have no need of compensation. Instead, could you please give my share to the Healer's Guild so it can be used to buy potions against future need. The money can be given to Bomber, who holds an account for the guild.

Allow my share to go to the healers guild also.

The battle cost me much, but I was able to make enough coin this month to perhaps replenish what I have lost. It would be better to purchase some powerful potions for the whole, than to purchase some lesser potions for the rest.

*Sir Fredrick walks back in*

Llyshon, when you have a moment I need to speak with you. Also, should anyone see Arthur, I'd appreciate it if you'd tell him to come see me. There is much to be done, and I require the aid of the Squires.

*Llyshon blinks as Sir Frederick speaks and then offers forth the gem. He looks genuinely surprised as he takes it, and bows his head in a gesture of respect towards him* My humble and esteemed thanks, Knight Protector. *He grasps the gem and it disappears beneath his tabard.*

*Llyshon looks over at Ebek, then the kitten* Of course, those who do not wish to have their share donated will be given their due. Bombour will first have to exchange them for currency.

*When Sir Frederick steps back into the Inn and approaches Llyshon, he quickly nods his head in agreement at the Knight's query* Of course, noble Sir. I will be glad to assist you in whatever capacity you require of me.
